Tesla added a material to the Model Y Juniper sunroof which blocks the radio waves of the Starlin Mini. I have been trying several suction cum mounts on the rear glass of the car, but the cups always loose suction. I'm beginning to think the glass heating wire for the defrost function are causing the cups to not hold the suction.
So, although the construction and build quality of your mount is excellent, I'm still looking for a solution to my situation. Fortunately, the Starlink Mini works when resting on the cargo cover behind the rear glass, but I would probably get better results if I can mount it to the glass.

I absolutely love this little mount. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for since I got my Starlink mini. At first I bought another mount that goes on the roof but could not find a good way to run power to it and look good. Then I tried laying it on the dash and it slid around and didn’t stay well. This mount solved it all. I usually leave it on the dash but the magnets will make it very easy to remove if I need to. You could even buy multiple dash plates and swap between multiple vehicles. I also bought a black silicone cover on Amazon so it matches the dash better and doesn’t draw as much attention. My cigarette plug is powered on by ignition so the Starlink cuts on and off with the truck. Exactly what I was wanting something that was zero maintenance and just worked when I needed. I was afraid the 3M adhesive wouldn’t stick good enough for the weight of the Starlink but I just used some alcohol wipes to clean the dash very good before I stuck the tape on then I pressed down firmly all around for 30 seconds and then I did give it a few hours before I sat the dish on there to give the tape time to adhere and it’s been on there for weeks and has not moved a bit.
It’s awesome! Limited availability of starlink mini mounts for the vehicle interior. Only giving 4 stars because the base isn’t very flexible so it required a little bit of heat to stick to my slightly curved dash. All in all, very nice product and have recommended to others. 4.5 stars
After making my own version and successfully using it one a long trip, I was looking for a better version and am very happy with this magnetic version from ConTronX. It’s well made, fits perfectly in the dashboard cup holder, and am quite sure it will work amazingly well for many years to come. Highly recommend this if you’re in the market for a dashboard solution for your 2019+ Sprinter and Starlink Mini.
